Champions at Work!

Join the Alumni & Friends

Dear Former SkillsUSA Member:

Do you remember what it was like being a member of SkillsUSA or VICA? For most of our former members, there are some special memories. Alumni members tell us they valued the sense of belonging and  support they felt, the special relationships with teachers, school administrators and technical advisors, the excitement of the competitions, the team spirit and camaraderie with other SkillsUSA members. They saw and did things they'd never seen and done before. They felt they were part of an organization made just for them.

We are hoping your membership was a special time for you, too. We hope you believe your SkillsUSA involvement made a significant change in your life. We also hope there is a part of you that still wants some level of involvement with an organization that played an important role in your life.

If so, we'd like to invite you to join nine million other former members in a SkillsUSA alumni membership. Right now, you have so much you could bring to our organization, we're extending a free membership to the SkillsUSA Alumni & Friends Association that will continue free of charge as long as you renew your membership annually.

Your level of commitment and involvement with SkillsUSA is completely up to you, of course. What we envision is an active and engaged group, with lots of give and take between the members and SkillsUSA, and lots of reasons for us to stay connected.

On the tangible side, there is a quarterly Alumni e-mail newsletter with a link to our online magazine, SkillsUSA Champions as well as an online Alumni forum. We also want to create more networking opportunities for you, maybe help you showcase your business or industry in some way, and keep you abreast of the latest developments in Career and Technical Education. The networking opportunities include over 1,000 companies that partner with SkillsUSA, many of them employers.

In exchange, we would like to hear what the SkillsUSA experience was like for you, what impact it had on your life, and how you would like to be engaged with the organization in the future. Perhaps you'd like to mentor new members, perhaps you'd like to be a technical advisor, perhaps you'd like to speak at one of our events, or provide administrative and/or leadership support in your former school.

We would like to welcome you to the SkillsUSA Alumni & Friends Association. Please click here to go to the SkillsUSA Alumni Member registration page, and thank you for considering how we might once again demonstrate "Champions at Work!" We were the organization made just for you, and we still are.

Regards,

Chelle Travis, Executive Director SkillsUSA
