You may see some changes to Delegate's Assembly as we move into the 2020-2021 membership year!
As we wrap up the Fall Leadership Conference on November 13th, State Officer Team applications will be due. Our member schools will have one week to view the officer applicants' resumes, and personal statement videos (in lieu of speeches), and Chapter Delegates will vote using the electionbuddy platform (https://electionbuddy.com/) by November 20th. Information related to the specifics surrounding voting will be released to schools prior to voting. The State Officer Team announcement will be made during a virtual Fall Leadership Conference Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, December 2nd. These officers will serve an abbreviated year so that we can begin our new election cycle process during the State Leadership and Skills Conference held March 26-28, 2021.
SkillsUSA Minnesota will be moving to a two election cycle process for upcoming years. Beginning with the 2021 State Leadership and Skills Conference, we will hold a newly revamped Delegate's Assembly experience during SLSC where high school students will have the opportunity to run for state office. College/Postsecondary officers will continue to be elected every fall in a similar Delegate's Assembly experience coinciding with Fall Leadership Conference.
This means that we will technically elect high school officers twice during the 2020-21 membership year in order to accommodate the changes.
